Lime Crime Velvetines

Black Velvet and Salem

These lipstick shades are from the Clueless Witch collection that Lime Crime Cosmetics created. They are just gorgeous colors. I wish I would have ordered the red color, Wicked, as well..but I didn't. Anyway, I ordered these on Tuesday, March 25th and they arrived on April 6th. This took longer than a normal order just because they were a pre order.

I love liquid lipsticks and there aren't any colors like these available by other brands..so I had to order them! haha I have to say...the packaging is adorable!

The lipsticks were tucked neatly in a bed of lime green tissue paper. :) I think the polka dotted box was a unique touch as well!

The brown lipstick is called Salem, and the black one is obviously called Black Velvet. They are in a frosted tube with a rose patterned top. I love the size and look of these tubes! Elegant, but with an edge. :)

The wand has a small, doe hoof shaped end. They both smell like delicious candy! It's amazing, haha. The texture is like the STILA liquid lipsticks. They go on in a very liquid type of consistency, but dry to a very nice matte look.

The top/first swatch is when they are just painted on..and the bottom/last swatch is once they have dried. I love how pigmented and perfectly matte they look!

They are so easy to wear because there is no need to reapply them after 2 minutes. They stay on fairly well! I wouldn't say that they stay on as well as the Makeup Forever or STILA brand versions...but as I said, those brands don't offer these colors.
I recommend anyone who is interested, to buy them. On the Lime Crime website, they offer free shipping on orders over $50 for the USA. Definitely check it out!

Review of Maxstar shoes

Review of Maxstar shoes!

I ordered these on the 4th of April, which was a Friday, and they arrived on the 11th. That's pretty fast...to be coming from Korea!
The shoes came in a clear plastic wrapping with a travel shoe bag. I thought it was a nice touch!

I bought two pairs: one silver in a low top converse style, and the other in a solid black vans style. I usually wear a size 8 in flat shoes. So I ordered the silver ones in (7.5 - 8) and the black ones in 7.5 just because I didn't want them to be too loose.
They're a comfy fit..although, I will say, that the converse style fits differently than the other style. The laces have to be tied very tight in order for them to not slip on and off my heels while walking. The vans style shoes are great, they are a great fit. After a while though, my toes started to feel a little pressure since they are new shoes. But all in all..I think they are great to wear!
I really have no complaints on how they walk or the height. I ordered a double platform version of the silver shoes..and I can walk comfortably. (I'm a very clumsy person too) So anyone thinking that these will be too wobbly or dangerous..don't even worry! They walk so easily. It's basically like walking in regular flats..you're just up higher, haha.

Those are some close up shots of the shoes. I really like the material on the inside of them! It makes them so breathable..and it's a kind of soft, squishy mesh material.
This is just a photo to show what they look like with an outfit on. I really like the versatility of these shoes. I've already gotten so many compliments and questions about these shoes! They're really cool and stylish, go with anything, and are comfy! What more could you ask for? haha

There are some closer up shots of the black ones. These are so easy to pair with outfits too! Maybe because they are solid black, haha. I love them! They add an edgy grunge look to simple outfits.
Here's a photo to show what these look like with an outfit on. :)

Bottom line, both pairs of shoes are awesome! I definitely recommend this website to anyone interested in platforms. They are holding up better than any others I've bought. They are also easier to walk in and more comfortable than any other brands I've bought. Go check out Maxstar! <3

makeup when wearing glasses

it can be hard to NOT lose your eyes when wearing glasses. glasses can create shadows around your eye area, making it harder to see them. :/

this is often difficult when trying to decide what shade of eyeshadow or what style of eyeliner to wear..(or if you should wear any at all for that matter)

well i have come up with some helpful tips for those days you have to sport those shadow-casting frames!

-and if you wear glasses on a daily basis, this will help you in knowing how to brighten your look and accentuate those beautiful peepers! ;3

first off, conceal..conceal..conceal baby!
-use a highlighting shade of either concealer or a light foundation color. (typically one that is at least one shade lighter than your skin tone)
-you want your eyes to be brought FORWARD and anything you put a highlighting shade on will be center stage! (nobody puts baby in a corner) :p

here is a photo for reference:
notice how i have basically drawn halos around my eye area? :)
-sorry for the awkward face....

now that your eyes are lit up, let's move on to the eyeshadow. :o

this is where it gets tricky..if you add any smoky, matte shades you will just hide your eyes again.
so what you want to do is.....put on a shimmery eyeshadow base instead of matte. you also want this base color to be lighter than the rest of the shades you will be putting on.
-my best tip here is to keep it in the yellow family..meaning the colors that resemble the inside of a banana.
this will keep that spotlight on your eyes! :D

here is a photo of one eye with a shimmery, yellow base:
the color i used was the second lightest shade from the top part of the BH Cosmetics 120 color palette 2nd Edition bhcosmetics.com

the next step will be to add color to the lid. just the lid! you want to keep this color fairly light as well.
-i suggest a color that goes well with your skin tone..but not an actual skin tone color. :p
i decided to use a peachy color for my lid since peachy colors look nice with any skin tone.
-to pick a color to go with your skin tone that isn't too light, i suggest picking a shade that almost blends into your skin.

here is a photo of the lid color i chose:
sorry for the terrible quality. x_x
- the color i used would almost blend with my skin..but it has a orangy/pink base to it.
this shade is on the second to the last row..third color from the right...from the BH Cosmetics 120 color palette 3rd Edition
 bhcosmetics.com

the last eyeshadow color should be two shades darker than the lid color.
-picking this color out is fairly simple...but where you apply it is the important part!
you want to accentuate your natural eye shape so keep the color focused at the edge of the lid and follow the natural curve of your eye upwards, stopping in the middle of the lid.

here is a photo of the coppery shade i used for the crease:

this color is also from the BH Cosmetics 120 color palette 3rd Edition
it is on the second tray of shadows...located on the second to the last row, fourth color from the left :)

next thing you want to do is line your eyes. this is where we focus more on the literal purpose of using eyeliner...to simply define your eyes. :p
-the best thing to do here is keep it on the top of your lid..right at the lash line. (you don't want to add dark edges to your eyes after putting all of this effort into brightening them up now do you??)
-so, what i think is the easiest way--- find where your lashes start, on the top of your eye lid, and draw a thin line all the way to where your lashes stop.
after you have your line drawn, you will want to put more emphasis on the edge of your eye lid. this will make your lashes look fuller on the ends..in a natural way.
-to do this, you will want to make the line thicker..starting from the middle of your eye lid to where your lashes stop. (just tapering upwards slightly..like a wedge)

you can either stop at the end of your lash line or create a wing...which is my favorite of course! :p

here are some photos of what i did with my eye liner:

-the eyeliner i used was Kat Von D Tattoo eyeliner in Trooper

by putting the eyeliner only on the top lid, you are creating a more open/youthful eye..where it looks wider and bigger. (if this is not the look for you, just simply keep the eyeliner at the top lid, but stop at the lash line)

the next thing will be your mascara! -when wearing glasses, putting mascara on can be a challenge..
my tip is to use only volumizing mascaras because any mascara that creates length will cause the lashes to touch your lenses...which is precisely what we do not want!
-you can still curl your lashes though! in fact, this will help them to not be hitting your lenses when you blink. :)

here is a photo of the mascara i used:

(i applied only one coat to the top and bottom, because you don't need to use a lot when wearing glasses)
the mascara i used is the Ultimate Mascara by Mary Kay

this one is a super volumizing mascara with a fluffy wand, so you get that drama of fuller lashes! :)

now, on to the lip shade... this is where you can go a little wild!
pretty much any lip color or formula goes..because you have on such a simple eye makeup.
-i chose to go with a reddish/coral colored lipstick because i wanted to stay with that naturally peachy theme. :p

here is the photo of the shade i used:

this lipstick is called Sunset by Mary Kay
-it is the older version from the MK Signature line but they have a color by the same name here in their creme formulas

here's the finished look! :D

the glasses are from the Glasses Shop website. the specific ones i'm wearing are here: glassesshop.com  they are so cute! i am in love :D
-i have been wanting some cat eye glasses for quite sometime..but i haven't been able to find a pair that didn't look silly on my face...still, i wasn't sure what these would look like on me, but i am actually really satisfied with them. so yay! :3

thank you for reading! hopefully now you can wear your glasses with confidence that your eyes are still seen underneath those frames. :)
-i can answer any questions you may have about this post..or anything else on your pretty little mind. :3
just send me an email or even a comment on here! <3

circle lenses are lovely

<3 certain makeup looks require contacts to achieve their desired effect and circle lenses are quite a common choice! <3

hii everyone! :D :D
i have decided to make a post about circle lenses because i adore them soo much!
>big doll-like eyes intrigue me<:3 hehe

experimenting with your makeup can be so much fun..that's why i think wearing circle lenses is a great thing to try!

there are so many ways to use them for makeup...it's wonderful. ^___^

for example: you can upgrade a normal everyday look to a look that is something unique and interesting!

i love using circle lenses for that "dolly eye" effect when i want to have a soft and sweet expression.

circle lenses are typically used for a more dramatic eye because they have a larger diameter than most contact lenses. they can be used to enlarge the eyes as well as change the eye color!

see how my eye normally looks here on the left? >>>>
the right eye is larger and the color has become a more saturated blue! >>>>

-there are many different options and brands available when it comes to circle lenses.
non prescription circle lenses can be found in some costume shops, but if you would like a wide variety of choices and the option for prescription; the most popular way is to purchase circle lenses from an online store.
-you can simply type "circle lenses" into a search engine and you will see many websites that sell them. :)

i order my circle lenses here:
http://www.uniqso.com/
 ----> +Uniqso Enquiry
-they have a large selection and great prices..
they provide many coupons/discount codes as well :)
-you can also check out reviews of their products on youtube by simply searching for "uniqso".

**due to health risks, there is some controversy over using circle lenses because there is a greater risk when wearing them for a longer period of time. knowing the safety precautions of wearing them is very important!
**if you have any hesitations about the use of circle lenses, it is best to consult your eye doctor.

-any questions about circle lenses? just email me or comment on here, i will be happy to help!
